Home Gym Essentials: Apartment Edition
This has been a post that I’ve wanted to cover for a LONG time, and I’m so happy it’s finally happening! These are my exact home gym essentials for our apartment, and they work out WONDERFULLY! I mainly do low impact, pilates style workouts, but they can truly be used for anything. I’ve been doing home workouts since way before this COVID business, so I feel I have it down?! Let’s break it down…
Home Gym Essentials
- The Container:
- 3 Tier Rolling Cart: If you live in an apartment, this cart is an essential piece for the home gym. I cannot stress enough how much more organized I feel and how easy it is to find anything. The wheels on the bottom make it super convenient as well.
- Weights:
- Dumbbell Set: This set ranges from 3lb – 8lb hand weights and have been amazing. I love that it comes with the tiered holder as well so that they’re easy to store and grab.
- 3lb Ankle Weights: These are adjustable, which is great and I love that they’re a bit heavier than my other wrist/ankle weights in case I want something a bit more intense.
- Bala Bangles You ALWAYS see me sporting these during my workouts. I’m obsessed, they’re cute, you can wear them on your ankles or wrists and they easily elevate any workout. I have the 1lb set, but don’t be fooled – they add a punch!
- Mats, Towels & Wipes
- My Yoga Mat: I’m very loyal to my Lululemon yoga mat, and I’m so glad I got it! I don’t slip, it’s lightweight AND it’s cute, need I say more? If you’re looking for a less expensive option, try this one.
- Yoga Towel: If you’re a yogi, this is a must! I also use this a ton when I travel and don’t want to bring my full yoga mat and it comes in handy!
- Equipment & Mat Wipes: Don’t forget this part! You don’t want to be using dirty equipment 😉
- Resistance Equipment
- Pilates Ring: If you do any at home pilates or yoga work, this is amazing to have! It’s also great to get in deep stretching too.
- Resistance Band Loops: I use these soo often and are a great way to get in some major toning. These are also one of the few pieces of equipment I travel with.
- Long Resistance Band These are really great for toning and strength training, as well as stretching too. I use them in a lot of pilates classes!
- Misc. Equipment:
- Yoga Block: If you’re a yogi and working on elevating your practice or trying new moves, these are great to have!
- Boxing Gloves: I used these mostly when going into a boxing studio, but now that I’ve been doing Jabs by Gina, I feel like I will be using them more!
- Pilates Ball: If you want to elevate your ab or leg exercises, this is the piece of equipment to do it, trust me!
- Recovery:
- Hypervolt Massage Gun: Just trust me on this! You have to recover to allow your muscles to grow and build up. This is one of the best investments I’ve ever made, truly!
- Foam Roller: Going off of the same tune as above, this is a must and will release all of the build up in your muscles you didn’t even know you had!
- Back Massage Ball: If you work at a desk or have constant upper back pain like me, you need this!!
Be sure to head to amazon for all of the products as well. You can also see a fun video of me breaking everything down here.
Any other questions on equipment? I think the best follow up would be my current workout routine/favorite streaming apps..thoughts?! Stay tuned 😉 xoxo
